About This Role
Build the backend systems that power the Orevida ecosystem. From API services and data pipelines to real-time event processing and cross-company integrations, you will design and maintain the server-side infrastructure that every product and portfolio company depends on.
Our backend stack centers on Python with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, and event-driven architectures. You will work on systems that handle membership management, the ORE/VIDA token ledger, marketplace transactions, portfolio analytics, and the internal tooling that keeps a 14-sector conglomerate running.
Reliability and speed both matter here. You will build systems that are robust enough to handle financial transactions and fast enough to ship new features weekly.

What You Will Do
Design, build, and maintain RESTful and WebSocket APIs using Python and FastAPI
Architect database schemas and optimize query performance across PostgreSQL
Build event-driven systems using message queues for cross-service communication
Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices
Create data pipelines that aggregate information across portfolio companies
Write comprehensive tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers on API contracts
Document APIs and internal systems for team knowledge sharing
What You Bring
4+ years of backend engineering experience in Python
Strong experience with FastAPI or equivalent async Python frameworks
Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and migrations
Experience with Redis, Celery, or equivalent task queue and caching systems
Understanding of microservices architecture and API design patterns
Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
Strong testing discipline: unit, integration, and end-to-end
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, async-first environment
Experience with financial systems, ledgers, or payment processing
Familiarity with event sourcing or CQRS patterns
Knowledge of GraphQL alongside REST
Experience with Kubernetes or cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, GCP)
